Mystic Violin had the great fortune of being offered the
opportunity to purchase a number of violins from a Polish workshop in
Poznań that
was closing. Poznań is the
Cremona of Polish violin making world, home of the Museum of Musical Instruments
where award-wining violins are exhibited, and the host of the international
Henryk Wienawski Violin Competition for violinists up to the age of 30 which
takes place every five years in honor of Polish composer Henryk Wieniawski.
This violin has a Stradivarius style body with a bright
golden amber spirit varnish. The top has a fine grain, widening towards the
flanks. The back is two-piece; with thin flames descending from the center seam
and a medium-faint curl. LOB 357mm. Nicely adjusted and setup by
Mystic Violin at our Mystic, Connecticut workshop, with Dominant strings and a
four fine-tuner tailpiece. Price reflects instrument only.
