Heinrich Th. Heberlein Jr. Markneukirchen 1919. Attributed to Theodor Heinrich Paul H. Nicely adjusted, instrument only. LOB 360 mm.
The Heberlein family of violin makers is one of the best known lineages in Markneukirchen violin manufacturing. This violin is attributed to Theodor Heinrich Paul Heberlein (b. 1902) who learned the art of violin making from his father, Paul Wilhelm. In 1953, he took over his father’s workshop and the family firm, continuing his family’s legacy of violin making in the tradition of his great-great grandfather Johann Gottlob Heberlein (instructed by Johann Georg Schönfelder, b. 1750) who founded the firm 150 years earlier.
This violin has a Stradivarius style body and a lovely reddish amber oil varnish. The top is of medium grain spruce, which widens towards the flanks. It has a two piece back of tightly flamed maple, descending slightly form the center, with a medium curl. LOB 360 mm. This instrument is in excellent condition and appears to be free of repair. This violin comes nicely adjusted and setup with Dominant strings. Price reflects instrument only.
