An unlabeled instrument, repaired in 1865. A fine violin at an affordable price. LOB 359 mm.
This violin is unlabeled, but has “Rep. by J. Cowles,
Oberhirsch, 1865” inscribed on the inside-back of the instrument.
The top of this violin has a medium grain, which widens
towards the flanks. The back is two-piece, with prominent dark flame ascending
from the center and very faint curl. LOB 359 mm, with a reddish-brown oil
varnish. Nicely adjusted, and setup with Dominant strings. Price reflects
instrument only.
